DERAJAH, an artist comin’ from Kingston and member of « Inna De Yard », met the DONKEY JAW BONE band in December 2007, while they were looking for an outstanding jamaican voice.
The band, who has his own studio near from Paris, only produces artists with whom a real musical alchimi has occurred.
And that’s what happened with DERAJAH.
Derajah has this kind of mesmerizing voice, both authentic and tinted of the most modern accents in actual Jamaican music.
But the roots is still there, reassured by DONKEY JAW BONE’s experience, who doesn’t leave anything to the modernity of nowadays sounds, but at the contrary, preserve this roots-rock -reggae vibe, wich is typical of reggae’s golden year in the 70s.
As the album has been recorded at Wendo Guenet’s vintage studio, you won’t find any electronic or numeric sounds in their music which will surely remind you Jacky Mittoo or Rico Rodriguez ones.
